Making Time for Pysanky

This weekend I got together with some friends and taught them how to make pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs). They came at nine in the morning and left at about three in the afternoon. Yup, it takes a while. But it's worth it. And it's a lot of fun.
Some people think you paint the eggs, but it 's actually a wax resist process using beeswax and dye. If you'd like to learn more about the history, mythology, symbolism and method behind this beautiful craft, you can find
the answers to these questions in my book Pysanky Promise. You can ask for it to be ordered at your local library, or find it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and many other sites.
